Disgraced Freeholder John P. Curley

Disgraced Freeholder John P. Curley left the room on Thursday when the Monmouth County Board of Freeholders discussed and authorized the payment of $24,075 to former Acting State Supreme Court Justice Mary Catherine Cuff for her investigation into the events that resulted in Curley’s  Censure and Reprimand for sexually harassing County employees and other atrocious behavior.

Judge Cuff’s report, which was referred to as “an interim report” by Monmouth County Counsel Michael Fitzgerald during the freeholders’ workshop meeting on Thursday afternoon, is sealed under a Federal Court approved agreement between Curley and the rest of the freeholders.  Curley sued the County, his fellow freeholders, Fitzgerald and County Administrator Teri O’Connor to prevent the Censure and seal the report.  The agreement also allowed Curley access to his office and confidential assistant, which had been forbidden after the report was presented. Sheriff’s Officers Bust Two Drug Dealers, Seize 1200 Bags Of Heroin, 22 Grams of Coke And Cash

Two Monmouth County Sheriff’s Officers, with the assistance of the drug sniffing K-9 team, arrested two Monmouth County men during a traffic stop on the Garden State Parkway at exit 109 on Wednesday.  1200 bags of heroin, 22 grams of cocaine, $4500 in cash, and a 2014 Dodge pickup truck were seized during the arrest, according to an announcement, according to an announcement by Sheriff Shaun Golden.

Sheriff’s Officers Glenn Sonnaband and Jason Simeone arrested Daniel Torres, 47 of Long Branch, and Alexander Mazza, 46 of Eatontown, who were charged with two counts of possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances  and two counts of possession with intent to distribute CDS.  The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the FBI Red Bank Office participated in the arrests and investigation. Monmouth Democrats Back Menendez For Reelection

Monmouth County Democrat Chairman David Brown responded to the news that indicted U.S. Senator Bob Menendez will face a second trial on federal corruption charges by endorsing the senator for reelection in November, according to a report at PoliticsDW.

“Whether it is fighting for progressive values or standing up to Donald Trump’s disastrous and economic and environmental policies, Senator Bob Menendez has had our side,” said David Brown, the Monmouth County Democratic Chairman.

Doherty to head MVC?

Belmar Mayor Matt Doherty is slated to become the Chairman and Chief Administrator of the NJ Motor Vehicle Commission, according to multiple unsourced reports.

Governor Murphy has not yet nominated Doherty for the position, which requires the advice and consent of the Senate, according to the Legislature’s website.

Doherty is in the final year of his second term as mayor of the borough.

Phony Pallone votes against reopening the government
