My rule of thumb when collecting signatures was always 50% more. ie in this case 300 signatures. There are always unregistered voters, or voters out of district that end up on the petitions so you need insurance

And, imho; if you can’t collect that amount of signatures, you don’t have a good enough operation to do much of anything down the road for your campaign. That spells a bit of incompetence to me.

Petitions were available back in February. 300 signatures divided by 6 weeks, what’s that 50 signatures a week? 10 people/5 signatures a week? I mean if you can’t find 10 people to support you with this minimum amount of effort, there’s a problem folks.

    Again, one man’s opinion….

when you have plenty of time to build a small organization, and coordinate and manage the most BASIC of campaign tasks! What many of the whizz-bangs and ego maniacs out there,on both sides, don’t get is: your “wonderfulness” does not excuse you from following all the rules, like everyone else. And, to expect more time/exceptions/ bending of the rules, because you messed up, when others got it together, and double checked, and made it in on time,is arrogance personified..not the kind of leader needed today.. And yes, everything that happens in a campaign reflects upon and defines a candidate- good and bad, it’s still your campaign, it becomes who you are, and when you goof up right in the beginning, you only get another one chance or two,to make corrections, and move forward.
